Today we left Lucerne but before we did we stopped to see a few more sights. One of them was them was The Lion Monument, carved in 1820. It is a memorial to the members of the Swiss Guard who lost their lives (over 760 of them) during the French Revolution. Mark Twain referred to this sculpture as "the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world".
We then traveled to the town of Stans to take a cable ride to the top of a local mountain (6300 feet up). It was a spectacular site at the top.
Lake Lucerne in the backround.
Then on to our campground for the night. Tomorrow we head for Interlaken for 3 days.
