We had a wonderful host in Walenstadt named Jair.  He's a physiotherapist originally from The Netherlands.  He graciously took us in for 2 nights and gave us the key to his flat so we could come and go as we pleased.  Last night, after getting back from Liechtenstein, we went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of stuff for a nice salad for dinner.

Today we left Walenstadt heading for Lucerne.  But today's route involved a big hill and it was a killer!  Much of the hill was at 14-16% grade.  Part of it hit 25%.  For those of you out there that know biking grades, I'm sure you're sweating just looking at those numbers.  We were sweating for sure.  It took us 2 hours to get to the top.  We celebrated by having a Stroopwafel - a present from our last host.

Tonight we are camping.  Tomorrow we have a host in Lucerne.

Taken at Lake Zurich

Near the top of our big hill.  That's lake Zurich down there.

We're pretty much following the Swiss Lakes Route #9.
